Bible Reading: Psalm 145:1- 21
“The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.” – Psalm 145:18 (KJV)
There are two main sets of people in the world. Those for God and those against God. Those who try to stay in between are also against God. That’s why the bible says in Revelation 3:16 (KJV): “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” Those who are for God are those who accept Jesus as their Saviour and they come under His divine protection. On the other hand, those who do not accept Him are outside his divine protection.
For those who are for God, God is always with them even when they pass through fire. That’s why when Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown inside the fiery furnace by King Nebuchadnezar, Jesus was inside the fire with them and protected them. He did not allow the fire to burn them. (Daniel 3:20-27). This is because the three men believed in God and exercised their faith up to the point of death. On the other hand those that were against God who threw the three men into the furnace were killed by the fire (Dan 3:22). Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego expressed their faith in the ability of the Almighty God to deliver them from the furnace and that reflected in their position not to compromise with the king.
Anytime believers call on God in truth, He is always there to answer. That’s why the bible tells us in Psalm 145:18 (KJV): “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”
Are you in any challenging situation, and you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, then praise the Lord for the next thirty minutes and thereafter tell him what you want him to do in your situation (Matt 7:7) and he will surely answer you. After your prayer, be sure you do not rush out but stay a few minutes thanking God and expecting his response.
However if you are not born again or you have backslidden, you need to ask for mercy of God and forgiveness of sins, promise not to go back to those sins and begin to live a life pleasing to God. Then He will be near you and will answer your prayers.
Prayer: Father, draw me closer to you and let me know you more in Jesus name.
