…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Proverbs 5:1- 23

“For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” – Romans 9:15-16 KJV

A woman had arthritis for several years and she had used several medications without any success. But one day, she took Holy Communion and after prayer, she found out that her arthritis had disappeared. Since then, she has not experienced the pain anymore.
Our God is still in the business of healing and because he made the parts of our body, he is in the best position to heal them or even replace them where they are damaged beyond repair.

But a number of believers often think that they can get healing from God by their hard-work of prayer and fasting. That is a mistake because God’s plan for his children is that of peace and not evil (Jeremiah 29:11). However he will not share his glory with anyone. That’s why he turned Nebuchadnezzar to an animal for ascribing the glory for the Babylonian empire to himself. (Dan 4:30-33).

While it is good and important that we pray and fast, we should recognize that healing by God is by his mercy. That’s why blind Bartimaeus called on Jesus for mercy and by mercy and faith, he received his sight. (Mark 4:46-51). In Matt 15:22-28, the cry of the woman of Canaan for her daughter was for mercy. And mercy mixed with faith made her daughter whole.

So you can access the throne of healing through mercy. Once the Lord shower his mercy on you, everything falls in place. But as it is stated in Romans 9:15-16 (KJV), “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.”

So we should constantly ask for his mercy. This is why we should praise him constantly as that will bring us closer to his throne of mercy.

Prayer: Father, by your mercy, heal me and make me whole in Jesus name.
