Bible reading: Proverbs 7.
“My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart…………… That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words” -Proverbs 7:1-5 (KJV)
Have you ever wondered why Our Lord Jesus was able to overcome Satan’s temptations? It was not because He walked the earth as God, remember he was born of a woman. He was the Word of God that became flesh(John1:14). His very life was of God, but he also shared in the human nature of His brethren. (Hebrews 2:14,17). He overcame Satan, because the Word of God was stored up and active in His life. That is why “It is written” flowed out of Him with ease. Proverbs 7:1-5(KJV) says, “My son, keep my words & lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live…. That they may keep you from the strange woman….”.
Meditate on God’s Word and allow it to dominate your whole being. The Word of God will keep you from sin and in the times of temptation, it will make a way escape for you (2 Peter2:9).
Prayer: Father I thank you because your Word is my delight. I love your Word and continually meditate on it day and night. Your Word keeps me from sin and the evils of this world. Sin has no dominion over me, because your Word is growing and prevailing in every area of my life in Jesus name. Amen!!!
