Bible reading: Proverbs 14
“He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly” – Proverbs 14:29 (KJV)
The Bible instructs us to be swift to listen, slow to speak and slow to getting angry. James 1:19-20 (KJV) says: “wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
The Ministry of the great man of God, Moses, came to an end because of his anger (Numbers 20:11-12). Uncontrolled anger can cause you to loose the best things of God for your life. Once you understand the consequences of lashing angrily or acting in anger, that understanding will keep you from destruction. It is a fact of life that people or circumstances will want to get the best of you, but you have a choice to act in anger or be in control of your emotions.
Prayer: Father help me to the in charge of my emotions. I declare that Iam slow to speaking, slow to anger and quick to listen. Your Word is at work in me, both to will and to do of your good pleasure in Jesus name.
