Bible Reading: ISAIAH 4: 1-end
“And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, we will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach” – Isaiah 4:1 (KJV).
It is not necessarily the multiplication and explosion of women in the last days in question but the absence or scarcity of men. There could be many male folks but scarcity of men. Manhood is not necessarily a gender issue but a maturity and responsibility issue. God sought for a man in a male dominated world but found none. No one could rise to take responsibility. King Saul had so many males in his army but none of them could confront Goliath. Instead they all hid in the cave until David; a small shepherd boy picked up the challenge to confront Goliath. There were many males but no man; it took a boy to deliver Israel from intimidation and defeat.
Because of the ungodly lifestyle of the people of God who abandoned God to worship Baal and embrace immoral lifestyle, God would judge them and the men of war will be killed in the battle. “Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war” – Isaiah 3:25 (KJV). It is not only a judgment to the women, the daughter of Zion, who have become proud, worldly and carnal, (Isaiah 3:16-17) but also the judgment of men; who will fall by the sword. Because the men that go to war will die by the sword, there will be scarcity of men in Zion and there will be crisis in the whole land. Everyone will be affected by the judgment caused by the ungodliness of the people.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help us to live a life that will attract your blessing and not judgment.
