Bible Reading: ISAIAH 12:1-end
“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation” – Isaiah 12:2 (KJV).
King David was right when he said that in God is his salvation and his glory, the rock of his strength and his refuge (Psalm 62:7). There is no other name under heaven whereby man shall be saved except the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Whenever salvation is mentioned, people think only of new birth, or salvation from sin. Although salvation from sin is the foundation, it must be understood that salvation is a compound word that is all inclusive. Salvation is deliverance from sin and all its consequences. It includes deliverance from spiritual death, deliverance from fear, deliverance from curses, deliverance from poverty, deliverance from sicknesses, diseases and infirmities, and deliverance from servitude.
Jesus saved us from the penalty of sin and from the dominion of sin. “Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver, in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us” – 2 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV). God is our salvation from the penalty of sin, (the wrath of God that we deserved for disobeying God and living in sin). God is our salvation from the power of sin (the rule and dominion of sin resulting from the sinful nature we inherited as a result of our obedience to satan). God will be our salvation from the presence of sin when he will take us away from this sinful world through rapture. God is our salvation from the wicked devices of the devil. There is hope of salvation for every one because our savior and redeemer lives.
PRAYER: Thank you Lord for so great a salvation.
