Bible Reading: ISAIAH 13:1-end
“Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it” – Isaiah 13:9 (KJV).
We are so privileged to be living at such a time as this. This is the day of salvation and deliverance. The grace, love and mercy of God still abounds. God invites everyone to come with their load of sin, worries and cares and he will abundantly pardon. This is the time acceptable, God will gladly hear the cry for salvation. He calls the sinful man to reason with him, not minding the depth and weight of sin, for he will forgive and pardon. “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” – Isaiah 1:18 (KJV). Today is the day of salvation, come while the offer lasts.
The table will soon be turned against sinners and then the God who now relates to man as the God of love and mercy will show another dimension of his as a consuming fire. His mercy will turn to wrath and He will judge the sinner with fierce judgment and terror. In that day of wrath, man will seek for death and desire to die but death will be far from him. It is God’s anger against sin and against satan who deceived man. On that day, the dead will rise to face the wrath of God. Jesus is the only escape from God’s wrath; but anyone who rejects Him shall be condemned.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for saving us from the wrath to come.
