Bible Reading: Isaiah 45:1-end
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” – Isaiah 45:22 (KJV)
Our God is the only God; beside Him there is no other. Salvation belongs to our God and he freely gives it to as many that call upon His name. In the wilderness, when Israel sinned and very fiery serpents came after them with death venom, Israel through Moses, called on God for deliverance. God provided a cure and solution. A serpent of brazen image was made and lifted up and as many that were bitten by the serpent were to look upon the serpent and be healed. Of course, there was the choice to look upon the serpent or not to look. Those who looked upon the serpent were saved and those that refuse to look up died.
Over the ages, there has always been the need to look up to God for our help. That is why the Psalmist said in Psalm 121: 1-2(KJV), “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” God is the source of our help and to Him shall we look unto for our salvation. The Almighty God, in fulfilment of this prophecy, gave us His only begotten Son to be our deliverer from the deadly venom of sin as encapsulated in John 3:16(KJV), “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Our salvation truly comes from God. Jesus himself further stated on this when he said in John 3:14-15 (KJV), “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life”. He has made all things for our salvation available. It is no wonder then that the bible said in Acts 4:12 (KJV), “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” To buttress this Jesus said in John 14:6(KJV), “…..I am the way, the truth and the life, and the life: no man cometh to the father, but by me.” The world is full of deadly traps which we cannot avoid or overcome by our human intellectual strength, but by the leading of the Spirit of God. We must therefore, of a necessity, stay under the coverage of the Almighty for maximum protection over the evil forces of darkness. Jesus has paid the price and secured for us victory that insulates us from satanic harassment and intimidation.
Our God is one and He has provided only one way through which we can reach Him. We therefore strive to enter through that ordained way to God. That way is Jesus. If we must look unto God to get rest for our soul, then we must, of a necessity, come to Christ and be accepted in the beloved.
Prayer: Father, thank you for providing a way of escape from the deadly venom of sin.
