Bible Reading: 2 Chro. 1; Phil 2:1-15.
“Do all things without murmurings and disputings:” – Philippians 2:14 (KJV).
The world is full of ups and downs. When we finish sorting out an issue, soon another one comes up, and we are expected to resolve all these as we journey in life. These challenges are meant to strengthen us and equip us with more knowledge in our dealings with others so that we can equip them to be better prepared.
What we should therefore do in any challenging situation is to face the issue with the mind of God. We should recogniz,e as children of God, that every circumstance or challenge presents us with the opportunity to glorify God no matter how turbulent. We are therefore expected to “do all things without murmurings and disputings” –Phil 2:14 (KJV)
When we murmur, we are querying God on why he allowed us to go through the challenge because Philippians 2:13 (KJV) tells us: “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” So we should face every situation recognizing that God is watching us. The question is, what would you do if God were to be present at that time? Would you be grumbling or rather face the challenge with joy knowing that God is at hand to help you?
As children of God, we should do the same thing whether God is there or not. That is what shows that we honour God. This consistency of action was an admonishment to the Philippians by Apostle Paul in Philippians 2:12 (KJV) which says, “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
Action point: Please ensure you do not murmur or grumble in any challenging situation but rather praise God all through.
