Bible Reading: 2 Chro. 15; 1 Thes.1:1-10.
“And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about.” – 2 Chronicles 15:15 (KJV).
When you seek to please God as we stated yesterday, there are a number of benefits that will accrue to you. Firstly, your prayers get answered ( John 15:16). You will have rest on all sides. 2 Chronicles 15:15 (KJV) says: “And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the Lord gave them rest round about.”
Because the children of Judah decided to seek the Lord with all their heart, they found him and got rest all around them. Seeking God with all their heart means they feared the Lord. And as long as you fear the Lord, He will put his fear on all your enemies such that they will be afraid of facing you because of God. Going by this, getting rest all around them implies rest from all forms of war at a time that war was very rampant. But for an individual, it means rest from diseases, afflictions and storms of various types. However for this to continue, you need to remain steadfast in pleasing God. This is why you are expected to pray to God without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Pleasing God does not imply that there will not be occasional challenges in your life but that He will always be there to provide the necessary way out such that you will come out victorious at all times. That is why the bible says in Romans 8:37 KJV “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Sometimes, your faith is tested to ascertain the level of your commitment to God. This is trial of faith. Job went through this but at the end of the trial he became twice better than he was. Job 42:10 (KJV): “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Every trial of faith you may be going through, God will turn around for you this day in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Father as I continue to please you, please let my end be better than my beginning and let me finish well in Jesus name.
