Bible Reading: 2 Chro.23; 2 Thes 1:1-12
“Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;” – 2 Thessalonians 1:9 (KJV)
When you are mistakenly burnt by fire, you feel a type of pain you will not like to recur. Subsequently, the fire burn continues to cause you pain and general discomfort. Now if that person is being burnt continuously by a flaming fire, the pain and anguish that he goes through is better imagined than real.
Generally, a person gets burnt to death in a flaming fire between ten to fifteen minutes. After which all the organs of the body shut down. One can then imagine what the situation will be with someone experiencing continuous burning and the organs are not shutting down such that the pains become everlasting! This is the promise of God to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 (KJV): “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”
Who are those that will experience this everlasting destruction? Revelation 21:8 (KJV) lists some of them; “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”/
This verse of the bible makes it clear what these people will go through. It is the type of death that you will not wish even your enemies given the pain that will be associated with such people. This is why it is essential for everyone to preach the gospel so that you can further depopulate hell.
Prayer point: Father, whatever will make me to miss heaven, please remove it from my life permanently in Jesus name.
