Bible Reading: Nehemiah 4: Titus 1: 9-16
“This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” – Titus 1:13 (KJV).
There is the need to teach, guide, instruct, correct and to rebuke people sharply so they can maintain healthy balance. This becomes more serious when we consider the influence of wrong belief and erroneous teachings on people. There is the need now more than ever in the history of the church for sound teaching and guidance as the church is fast embracing the spirit of the end time.
One of the signs of the end time is deception. Today, more than ever, people are fast falling victim to deception. The hyper grace teaching that weakens the battle against sin and drive for Christian discipline and holiness has swept a lot of gullible Christians searching for reasons to evade responsibility. In search of unbridled liberty, most Christians have found the unbalance teachings of grace as license to indulge the flesh. Worst still is the current wave of prophetic ministries. So many people, especially the young generation, who want result by all means take undue advantage of this gullible generation. They major on issues of this present life at the detriment of the souls of the gullible ones. They understand that people have nagging issues of life bothering on health challenges, marital challenges, barrenness or delays in child bearing, financial challenges etc. They also understand that most people want solution to threatening life issues by all means so they use fetish means, familiar spirits, divination and manipulation to their advantage. Unfortunately, many Christians have fallen victim to this wave of deception and so many have joined this band wagon.
Today, people are no longer ready to wait or follow due process of training and maturing; they rather resort to short cut. So many today who are not sound in faith and who do not understand the doctrines and teachings of Christ are teachers and heads of ministries resulting to widespread deception.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, restore soundness in the church.
