Bible Reading: Job 16; Heb. 11:8-14
“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth” – Hebrews 11:13 (KJV).
The effect of sight is very powerful; when we hear anything, we want to see it, when we smell something, we want to see it, when we feel something, we want to see it. The story of the woman with the issue of blood succinctly illustrates this. She heard about Jesus Christ and made an attempt to see and touch Him. “When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole” – Mark 5:27-28 (KJV). What followed that move was overwhelming testimony.
However, it is important to know that sometimes when we put on the garment of faith, it is not every time that we get result immediately. Waiting for result in the palace of faith has made many Christians disillusioned and some have even forfeited their faith. Some in this category often forget what B.B Mckinney, the hymn writer says: “Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered, your earnest plea He will never forget, wait on the Lord, trust His word and be patient, Have faith in God, He’ll answer yet.”
The Scripture explains the journey of our elders. Abraham was called out from among his people and was also given a promise. This did not come to pass until after twenty-five years of waiting as Sarah was given strength to conceive even when she had passed the age. You might have put in efforts to some things yet result seems not to be forthcoming, please, believe that it is not over yet with you. Also, at their time they died without receiving the promise of Christ yet they did not waver in their faith in YAHWEH. Christ Jesus is here with us now, and I know there are still some things you are yet to access, do not relent in your faith, focus majorly on that city which hath foundations whose builder and maker is God.
Prayer Point: Dear Lord, help me not to cast away my faith no matter how delayed the fulfilment of Your promises in my life in Jesus name
