Bible Reading: Job 38; 1 Peter 1:17- 25.
“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away” – 1 Peter 1:24 (KJV)
There is a season for everything. In some countries, there are rainy, dry, and harmattan seasons. In other climes, it is winter, spring, summer and autumn. During rainy seasons, you will see the trees grow and blossom while in dry seasons, the trees and grasses fade and lose their flowers at that point.
A few weeks ago, I lost someone dear to me. We went to bury her at the place she had appointed for her grave before she died. When we were about finishing her burial, it started raining and while we endured to finish the burial, no sooner had we finished that we all rushed for cover from rain while the woman’s body remained underground inside the rain. She owned the property on which she was buried and there had been issues between herself and one of her children on the property and rent collection from the tenants at a point in time. This caused her some pains then though it was later resolved. However at the point of burial, she could not go with anything! Not even the house key talk less of the building. At that point in time the reality and real meaning of Solomon’s statement in Ecclesiastes 1:2 (KJV): “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” dawns on me!
So it does not matter what level of achievement you have attained in life, everyone will die because the word of God says it is appointed unto man to die. Hebrews 9:27 (KJV) says: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” So whatever position you are on earth, no matter your glory, you will die and the glory will fade. Thereafter there will be judgement. What you need to do is to prepare ahead for the judgement by ensuring you live a life pleasing unto God to book a place in eternity. To ensure this, there are a few steps you need to take. Recognise that you are a sinner and that only Jesus can save you. Then call on him to forgive you your sins, promise not to go back to those sins again and ask that Jesus gives you the grace to live a life of total obedience to his words. Thereafter, ensure you study the bible regularly so that you get to know God’s expectations of you. I pray, you will not miss heaven in Jesus name.
Prayer point:
Father, in Jesus mighty name, please help me to make heaven where Glory does not fade.
