Bible Reading: Psalm 7, 2 Peter 1:1-7.
“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” – 2 Peter 1:2 (KJV)
Grace is undeserved, unmerited favour. It is by Grace of God that David conquered Goliath, the experienced giant soldier, with a smooth stone! It is by grace that Joseph became the Prime minister in Egypt. It is also by Grace that the widow of Zarephath was visited by Elijah and she did not die out of starvation.
Grace is also responsible for a man who had been impotent for thirty years to suddenly father a child without any medical help. That grace will make way for you in every area of your life that you are trusting God for breakthrough in Jesus name. Before the end of today, the last day of the year, God will make Grace to beckon on you and open doors of unbelievable blessings unto you in Jesus name.
Peace, on the other hand, is needed by everyone as it’s absence leads to chaos, pains and sorrow among others. For growth, accomplishments, fulfillment and success there must be peace. Peace could be short term but a long lasting peace can be obtained from the Prince of Peace; Jesus Christ. In Mark 4:35-39, there was a great storm against the boat of the disciples and Jesus was in the boat. The disciples were fearful and awoke Jesus who only spoke to the storm; “Peace, be still” and instantly the wind ceased. Whatever storm is raging in your life, I decree, Peace, be still in Jesus name.
Both Grace and Peace are therefore important for a well meaning life and the source of both is knowledge of God. 2 Peter 1:2 (KJV) states: “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.” Since God is the source of both, the way to acquire multiples of them is by knowing God the more. This can be done by studying the bible. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV): “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Listening to messages of genuine men of God. Acts 18:11 (KJV) tells us how people listened to Apostle Paul: “And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.” and thirdly; fellowshipping with God in Praise and worship as well as in prayers. 1 John 1:3 (KJV) says: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”
Prayer point:
Father, increase me in the revelational knowledge of you in Jesus name.
