“And all mine are thine, and thine are mine..,,,” – John 17:10. ” ……..therefore Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God’s “– 1 Cor. 6:20b.
By creation and by redemption you are God’s. In the light of these scriptures and every available evidence how much do we owe God? How do we live as if God is indebted to us. As the songwriter Isaac Watts put it in his famous song “When I survey the wondrous cross” one stanza goes like this ‘Were the whole realm of nature mine; that were an offering far too small. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. Jesus Christ who had no need of redemption and as such was never redeemed but rather, in obedience to God paid dearly with his life for our redemption declared as above that “All mine are thine’ before claiming “and thine are mine.” Every creature owe their existence to God and in essence owe their all to God. We lie when we say something like ‘I have my life to live’. We owe him all and must endeavour to live for his pleasure every day.
Prayer: Dear father, grant us the wisdom to live for you, to give our all so we can enjoy your all moment by moment. In Jesus name.
