Bible reading: Genesi 28 and 29.
“For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” – Gal. 6:7 (KJV).
Yesterday we saw Jacob’s deception, his scheming, and his manipulations to get the blessing. Even in those wrong methods God saw the potential in Jacob that never seemed to be in Esau; the strong will that was bent on doing things his way. It was that strong will that God took and put back on the potters wheel and through a series of hard knock life lessons.
God was refining Jacob; He was using the 20 years of hard work in Laban’s household to prepare him to return home to fulfill his purpose.
Jacob Finally reaches Padanaram and when he set eye on Rachael, he loved her, but for what seems like a generous offer from Laban” that if he is going to stay with him, then he need to work. The deceiver was deceived. He met his match in Laban, and laban gave him Leah instead of Rachael.
Jacobs had sown deception, he reaped deception. We must understand, therefore, that God uses the consequences of sin to shape his people. God arranges our circumstances to shape us into the express image of Jesus Christ. We must recognize and Submit to God’s hand in the daily events of our life.
A deceiver does not think deception is all bad until he himself get deceived. Jacob was so shocked that Laban can pull such stunt in deceiving him. So God allowed the consequences of his sin so that he will see himself accurately and turn away from his sins.
Every choice that we make comes with consequences. If we make wise choice, then we will reap positive consequences. If we make sinful, disobedient choices then we will experience negative consequences. …whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:7-8)
Sowing and Reaping is a two way thing.
If you sow good things, you will reap good things!
If you sow honesty, you will reap trust.
If you sow goodness, you will reap friends.
If you sow humility, you will reap greatness. Basically, whatever you give , that’s what you get back.
Readers, we must have our eyes on the harvest by sowing the right kind of seed that we would want to harvest.
Prayer:
Father, help me to make Right choices, to sow Righteousness always.
