Bible Reading: Genesis 41,42
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” – Romans 8:28 (KJV)
From our text, we can now see how the Lord’s hand was upon Joseph even in the bad experiences. God knew in advance of the 7 years famine that would hit that part of the world. He wanted to preserve his servant Jacob. He had allowed Joseph’s brothers to conspire to sell him to traders headed to Egypt. He had caused an officer of Pharaoh (Potiphar) to buy Joseph.
He allowed the wife of Potiphar to file false charges against Joseph. He had Joseph put into the kings prison. He caused the butler of Pharaoh to come into disfavor with Pharaoh and be placed in the same prison where Joseph was. He gave the dream to the butler so that Joseph could interpret the dream for him. He gave the dream to Pharaoh, and caused the butler to not remember Joseph until Pharaoh had his dream.
Joseph could now see the hand of God in all these things. For God has worked all things for his good. Now blessed so abundantly, all of the sorrowful sad experiences of the past are forgotten; All of the hurts, all of the painful experiences and seeming tragedies.
They were all part of God’s plan for his life. All things were working together for good for him.
Readers, if you can commit your life, your all to the Lord, you can be sure that “All things are working together for good in your life.” God is working out His eternal purposes even in the seeming tragedies you might be going through now.
One day in the discovery of God’s full purpose, you will forget all of the present painful experiences. If we could see beyond today as God does see, then all our tears will be wiped away, our sorrows will flee for the many joys awaiting yet, for you and me. Please don’t give up, don’t get distracted, never compromise. All things are working together for your good indeed in Jesus Name, Amen.
Prayer: Father help me not to give up or compromise before my appointed time.
