Bible Reading: Exodus 9,10,11.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” – Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
In our text, there was one more plague to go; The death of the firstborn. This was the Final Plague. It was a spiritual illustration of the finality of death if you have not been saved. We are all under either the love of God, or the wrath of God. We are either saved or lost, redeemed or doomed. And all of us will one day face the final plague: death! “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
Pharaoh remained stubborn in spite of the impending judgment of death to all first born! Time was running out for Pharaoh but he remained prideful and unbelieving!
We have noted in the past that God is long suffering in His mercy but there is a limit to God’s patience! Which would be signified by what will happen in Egypt.
Readers, We are living in a time of grace but eventually God will judge all unbelievers and the signs of the time indicate imminent judgement. Jesus Christ is coming back soon!
Are you saved?… Like Pharaoh did, You may have hardened your heart 9 times, but there’s a final plague, a final test coming. What will happen to you when the death angel comes to visit?
This was the final Plague, a fatal plague.
No wonder Jesus said, ye must be born again! Knowing that we all must eventually face this final, fatal plague.
If Jesus Christ showed up today, will He find you a eliever or will you be judged for eternity? Today is the day to believe in Jesus Christ as your Only Savior and Lord if you have never done so before! And since the return of Jesus is imminent, there is urgency in sharing the Gospel today! God kept telling Moses to go to Pharaoh and share the truth; God is calling you and me, at the right opportunity, to tell those around us about Jesus Christ!
And God is full of grace but He is also a Holy God who must judge sin. Pharaoh’s ultimate downfall was his pride; Pharaoh refused to bow down to God and the consequences were fatal!
Prayer: Father I know that I cannot help my self, come into my life, I accept you as my lord and personal saviour in Jesus name, Amen.
