TOPIC: CREATED FOR GOD’S PLEASURE
Bible Reding: Psalm 45; Revelation 4:1-11
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” – Revelation 4:11 (KJV).
Everything created were created for a purpose. No manufacturer manufactures a product without a purpose in mind. The joy of the producer or manufacturer of a product is not only the financial gain but the purpose it serves or the pleasure it brings through the service it renders. It is in fulfilling the intended purpose that the producer finds joy and fulfillment. In the same manner, everything God created was created for certain purposes. All of God’s creations are meant to bring pleasure to Him. This pleasure is derived in serving the purpose of their creation.
Man was created for God’s glory, this glory gives God pleasure. Such glory and pleasure is derived from services rendered to God and his kingdom. A life lived for self or to fulfill the worldly desires robs God of the pleasure He deserves. As we serve God and humanity, God is well pleased, but when man turns to serve idol, to serve the devil, or to seek personal pleasure opposed to God’s will, it offends God because such action denies him of the pleasure he was meant to derive from his creation. Hear God’s witness of Jesus “And there came a voice from heaven, saying, thou art my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased” – Mark 1:11 (KJV). He received from God the father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory.
We have account of several people whose lives brought great pleasure to God. People like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Daniel, Elijah, Joshua, Paul and lots more. To bring pleasure to God one must first receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour, have one’s sins forgiven and be translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God’s dear son. The life of a sinner cannot give God pleasure, his prayer is an abomination before God except the sinner prays for repentance. In the same vein, if one is born again but lives for self to gratify the desires of the flesh, such a lifestyle does not give God pleasure. Does your life give God the pleasure he deserves?
PRAYER: Oh Lord, may my life always bring you the intended pleasure.
