Bible Reading: Numbers 12, 13&14; Mark 5:23-43
“But Caleb stilled the people before Moses and said, let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, we be not able to go up against the people: for they are stronger than we” – Numbers 13:30-31 (KJV).
There are many things that God has provided for us in redemption. Jesus paid the price to give us access to our inheritance in God as heirs of God and joint heirs together with Christ. Those blessings and inheritance are part of our redemptive package that we are meant to enjoy in this side of eternity.
Like the physical Canaan land, the believer in Christ have a promise land. In Christ, we are blessed with kingdom wealth. “Blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” – Ephesians 1:3 (KJV). The Christian land is a land flowing with milk and honey. It is rich in healing, divine health, prosperity, love, hope, peace, joy and material wealth.
Unfortunately, most Christians are locked out of these inheritance; not being able to access the blessings in Christ. Just like the children of Israel, fear, disobedience and ignorance has kept so many Christians out of their inheritance in the kingdom. “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” – Isaiah 1:19 (KJV). One needs faith to access the blessing of the kingdom. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” – Hebrews 11:6 (KJV).
Fear and unbelief will keep the Christian out of his inheritance but faith in Jesus will grant him access to the blessings of the kingdom. As one is delivered from fear to lay hold by faith on God’s promises, the blessings are made available and accessible to one. Lack of knowledge of how to access the blessings keeps most Christians out of their inheritance. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” – Hosea 4:6 (KJV).
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possession. (Obadiah 1:17)
PRAYER: Lord, help me to access my blessing in Christ.
