“And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:”– Mark 3:14-15 KJV.
Jesus Christ’s primary purpose for choosing us as his disciple (making us Christians) is to preach the gospel to others. The power to heal sicknesses and cast out devils will come thereafter. That is why the bible says in Mark 3:14-15 KJV
[14] And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, [15] And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils.
The world is full of various challenges and all sorts of satanic agents diverting people attention from the kingdom of God. Jesus recognizes this and the need to teach people about the basics of the good news before going out to preach the gospel. This is why he stated that the disciples should be with him first before going out. He recognizes that you can only give what you have.
To ensure we have the necessary training, God ensured his word is codified in the bible so that we can always use that to know his mind over every issue before telling others. To further ensure we know our primary function, he gave us the great commission.” Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 KJV. Have you preached the gospel today or even this week?
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to spread the good news of the gospel in compliance with your command in Jesus name.
