Bible Reading: Num. 26 & 27. Mark: 8:1-19
“If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments and do them;” – Leviticus 26:3 (KJV)
Walking in God’s statutes and keeping His commandments connotes total obedience to His word. The word of God is a living word. John 6:63b (KJV) “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life”. Keeping God’s commandment and statutes via His word release tremendous blessings. God’s word gives direction and illumination. ”Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” – Psalm 119:105 (KJV). “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me” – Psalm 119:133(KJV). God’s word infuses wisdom in man. “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” – Psalm 119:130(KJV). God’s word renews and transforms. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” – Romans 12:2(KJV). The Word of God is medicinal “For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh” Proverbs 4:22(KJV). “He sent his word, and healed them, delivered them from their destruction” Psalm 107:20(KJV). With these inherent powers embedded in the word of God, obedience to His words attracts them into our life and we become recipients of them.
When, therefore, we obey the instructions in His word and Keep His commandment and statutes we begin to generate goodness as stated in the book of Leviticus chapter 26:4-13. The word of God not only change us from inside through renewal and transformation but also translate us from the realm of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son (Colossians 1:13). This translation manifest in the physical through the blessings in goodness, prosperity and abundance we experience in Him.
Dear reader, it pays to serve God.
Prayer: Father give me the grace to obey your word.
