Bible Reading: 2 Sam. 9, 10 & 11. Luke 15:17-32..
“And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.” – 2 Samuel 11:15 (KJV)
A man was sick some years ago and he called for a Pastor to pray for him. When the latter sought the face of God concerning the sick man, a secret was revealed to him. God showed the pastor that some years ago, the sick man had a case in court at a time with some people and when those people were to cross a stream to go to court, he arranged with a boat man that ensured that they were all drowned in the river. Subsequently, he killed the boat man to ensure he covered his track. Then God told the pastor to ask the sick man the secret but the man insisted there was no secret until the pastor revealed the details. And rather than seek for mercy, the man was unrepentant, and he asked the pastor to leave him alone and never to come back again! He never thought anyone could know the secret. He ended up dying in his sickness without reconciling with his maker!
This is similar to what happened to David, the King. After committing adultery with Bath-Sheba, a wife of Uriah, one of his soldiers, he plotted to cover the adultery up by making her husband to sleep with her. When Uriah refused, the king sought to plot his death. In 2 Samuel 11:15 (KJV), the bible says of David, “And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.” After his death, he married the wife thinking he had fully covered his track but God revealed everything to Nathan the prophet later!
What is it that you have done and felt no one can ever know? God knows even if no living human being is aware. You need to repent like David did and confess your sins asking for mercy. Surely God will forgive you. But if you choose to live in denial like the sick man who refused to acknowledge his sins and take the opportunity to ask for mercy from God, the result is eternal damnation! I pray for you that you will not miss heaven in Jesus name?
Prayer: Father, I surrender to you today knowing that nothing is hidden from you, please forgive me my sins in Jesus name.
