Bible Reading: 1 Kings 8 & 9. Luke 21:1-19.
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.” – Luke 21:17 (KJV)
People generally do not like change and most people will like to resist change from the status quo even when the change will bring better result. The main reason is because they are not sure of what the future, after the change, will hold for them. This stems from what we generally believe that ‘a bird in hand is worth two in the bush!’
Based on this, a number of people will not like you when you preach unadulterated word of God. This is particularly so because a number of the biblical doctrines have been infiltrated by the things of the world and people generally prefer the adulterated version because it gives them room to do some of the things they were used to. It should, therefore, not be surprising to note the word of the Lord Jesus Christ in Luke 21:17 (KJV), “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.”
When you follow the scripture wholeheartedly, you will be seen as a fanatic and it is left for you to maintain your stand and be ready for whatever persecutions that may arise from that or loose your guard and join them! However, you should always have behind you what the future holds! Also Jesus Christ is quite emphatic in his words in Revelation 3:15-16 (KJV), “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
It’s important you identify in what area you are not doing the will of God and immediately put in place what you need to do to correct this. It does not matter how many or how highly placed are others doing such things that are against the scripture! What is key is your decision to follow Christ till the end. There is a common song on following of Christ: I have decided to follow Jesus, (3ce), No turning back no turning back.
Today is the last day of this Easter month, you need to take your position in Christ so that his death will not be in vain concerning you!
Action Point: Examine yourself and identify every area where you are not complying with the word of God and ask for Grace to make amends today.
