Bible Reading: II Kings 15, 16; John 3: 1-18
“Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” –John 3:3 (KJV)
The world is known for different measurement for different people. The standard for the high is quite different from that of the average and the low set of people respectively. This applies in government institutions, financial institutions, educational institutions, sports world, sadly, even in the religious circle. Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin mentioned in three places in the Gospel of John. This man came to Jesus at night to authenticate the teaching of Christ and His person. The testimony he bears about Jesus attests to this submission, “the same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him” John 3:2(KJV).
Jesus who is not interest in the praise of men quickly gave the needed spiritual pills which could heal the spiritual ignorance of this highly placed man in the society. Jesus did not mince words in telling him the plain truth notwithstanding his status, thus He says, “Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” ‘- John 3:3 (KJV). Though Nicodemus was a Pharisee who we believe should have a good understanding of religious matter but religiosity is not spirituality. This missing link, Jesus noted and supplied the solution- born again.
Folk, are you at the top echelons in your chosen carrier, the standard to access God is the same for the cleaner in your office or maid in your house. Do not allow arrogance of heart rob you of the blessing of becoming a child of the kingdom. Allow Christ to take you step-by-step. Just as Jesus told Nicodemus never to marvel, I am telling you that the standard of
becoming heir among those that are sanctified is unbending, embrace it today.
Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, create in me the humility to accept the provision for salvation.
