Bible Reading: 11 Kings 24, 25; John 5:1-24
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation ; but is passed from death unto life” – John 5:24 (KJV).
Many people in life do not like to discuss the subject of death whereas it is the reality that all men shall face as long as the earth endures. The only people who shall not taste physical death are those who are privileged to partake of the rapture. Jesus Christ is explicit on this “And he said unto them, verily I say unto you, that there be some of them that stand here which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power” – Mark 9:1 (KJV).
Jesus Christ decides to bring into the awareness of the people the love that exist between Him and the Father which irrevocably leads to revealing so many things about the Lord. He says further that the power of resurrection has been given to him as well. In the area of judgment which is inescapable for any man, Christ says, “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son”. – John 5:22 (KJV).
Why did God bequeath all these to the Son? Because he wants all men who want to pass from death to life to honour the Son because of their divine inter-connectedness and because this Christ shall soon sit on the judgment seat to condemn or commend. So if you are willing to cross from condemnation to life, then live your life by the Word of Christ and put your unreserved trust in Him, only then can your eternal life is guaranteed.
Prayer Point: Lord, help me listen to Your voice which leads to eternal life in Jesus name.
