Bible Reading: 11 Chronicles 4, 5, 6; John 10:22- 42
“Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him. How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly” – John 10:24 (KJV)
The amazing testimony Jesus Christ gave to the Jews about Himself did not convince them enough. These self–styled people were not satisfied with all they had so far seen in Jesus Christ. Thus, they accosted Him to come out to them plainly if He was the Christ. They were tired of being held in suspense. The reason they did not understand was because they had allowed their spiritual antennae to collapse completely. Those Jews were not different from many people in our days who have completely blocked their minds to every avenue God opens to them for Him to be known as the only Saviour of the world.
The Lord did not want to put the Jews in the dark, “Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not…” – John 10:25-26 (KJV). How many words have you also been hearing which you have not allowed to mix in faith in you just like the writer of Hebrews said, “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it” -Hebrews 4:2 (KJV). It was difficult for them to know His identity because they are not of His sheep v.26. Christ has told them earlier but they failed to understand. The question is, are you Christ’s sheep?
Christ is still plainly telling you that He is still the Saviour of the world. He is the Light of the world. He is the Giver of eternal life.. He never wants His sheep to perish! With these and many more, I say to you plainly that Christ is the One who saves! “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” –Acts 4:12 (KJV). Have you come to Him?
Prayer Point: Lord Jesus Christ, help me never to waste the opportunity of salvation found in You in Jesus Christ name.
