Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 13, 14; John 12:1- 25
“And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God” – 2 Chronicles 14:2 (KJV).
Alignment of any vehicle enables the wheel to run smoothly. In the same vein, when we align ourselves with the LORD, the course of our lives shall run effectively even when a hitch comes on the way, we shall surmount with His help. Asa became the king of Judah with a deep sense of reformation and restructuring of what has been damaged. The Scripture reckons of him, “And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God” – 2 Chronicles 11:2 (KJV). Amongst the good things he did are: altars of strange gods were taken away, he destroyed the high places and broke down images. He did not only stop at that but encouraged the entire household of Judah to seek the face of the LORD God of their fathers and to do the law and the commandment.
This efforts made the LORD to make the kingdom peaceful in his days even when there was invasion of the enemy, in spite of the fact that he had large shields of about two hundred and eighty thousand which was not even a march with the weapons of the enemy, he did not trust in that rather he called on God. This shows to us how close the man Asa was to God, “And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, It is nothing with thee to help, whether with many or with them that have no power: help us O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God: let not man prevail against thee” –2 Chro. 11:11 (KJV).
As if that was what God has been waiting for, He resumed action and brought a great destruction against the enemy of Israel. God is ever ready to do similar thing in your life If only you would do away with idolatry, sins, and all kinds of self-confidence and fully align yourself with God through Jesus Christ. Just as Asa recorded victory, you also shall. What are you waiting for now? Arise and hand over your entirety to Him.
Prayer Point: Lord Jesus, help me not to disconnect with you all the days of my life in Jesus Christ name.
