Bible Reading: Ezra 9,10; Acts 1
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” – Acts 1:8 (KJV).
Power is needed to carry out anything meaningful in the world today. Power could be in various forms. Power belongs to God (Ps 62:11) who gives it out for His Will and purposes to be done here on earth. Among His Will on earth is the preaching of the good news as a witness for Christ.
Since man fell the devil has continue to deceive many. Christ came and rescued man, yet, many still not aware of this great rescue, and some others who are aware are being deceived and blind-folded (2 Cor 4:4). But through the greatness of God’s power the devil will be chased out of people’s lives (Ps 66:3). The baptism of the Holy Ghost is that power that empowers Christians to witness effectively the works of Christ in this world.
Jesus operated in that power here on earth. He promised His disciples they will be empowered too (Luke 24:49). But it starts with you coming to Jesus and accepting His Lordship. Baptism of the Holy Ghost is meant for His disciples for witnessing. Remember, every mortal man is a candidate for salvation.
Prayer: Father, empower your children afresh with the baptism of the HOly Ghost in Jesus name.
