Bible Reading: Nehemiah 4-6; Acts 2:24-47
“So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to walk” – Nehemiah 4:6 (KJV).
Nehemiah had a Kingdom dream; to rebuild the city of Judah and bring the people of God together, who had been scattered abroad and some taken captives because of their disobedience to God. He prayed and God gave him favour in the sight of the King of Persia to go ahead with rebuilding the city. However, Nehemiah faced opposition from many sides.
Dedication made the rebuilding of the wall to be possible. Nehemiah and His people showed commitment to the cause in spite of the opposition. That you have a Kingdom dream will bring God to your side, but you must put your mind, energy and resources to the work for it to be accomplished. No dream will come to pass on its own. Our input is key to makiing it see the light of day. Nehemiah and his co-labourers worked night and day in building and defending the city. They did not put off their clothes except for washing.
Doing the work of God will always attract the enemy and His agents (Nehemiah 2:19, 4:1-3), but with God on our side and our dedication to that cause will see us through. I know a man of God who ask God to bless him for he had it in his heart to build at least a thousand churches in his life time. It has not been easy but he is almost there because he is dedicated to that cause.
Whatever Kingdom dream you have, never mind the opposition, God will always do his part. But we need to be committed with our mind, energy and resources to see this come to pass like Nehemiah did.
Action point: You have any dream you have not done anything about due to perceived opposition, make up your mind today and step out. God will back you up.
