Bible Reading: Job 41-42; Acts 16:21-40
“And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for His friends: and the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before” – Job 42:10 (KJV).
Several happenings in the bible shows us that God’s ways are past finding out (Rom 11:33). This is because the realm where HE thinks from is far greater than ours. No wonder the bible says in Isaiah 55:9 (KJV), ” For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” But His commands are always for our benefit.
Job was told by God to pray for his friends, the same group of people who had accused him of sinning against God leading to his suffering on earth. The more Job tried to put forth his innocence the more he is accused of arrogance by His friends. Job followed God’s instruction; and prayed for his friends and his ordeal came to an end.
It is a good thing to pray for others, and the bible said that “whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord” – Ephesians 6:8 (KJV). Like Job, may we continue to pray for others, against whatever trial we may be going through or that they may be going through and God will turn that situation around.
You desire the fruit of the womb? Pray for others in similar situation. You need a job? Pray for the jobless around you genuinely and God will turn that situation around.
Action Point: What are the challenges you are facing at the moment? There are people around you going through same. Start praying for them to overcome that situation.
