Bible reading in one year: Ps. 119: 1- 88; 1Cor 7:21-40
“Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his ways? By taking heed thereto according to Your Word” -Psalm 119:9 (KJV).
How can God’s followers keep their lives morally and spiritually pure, free from corruption and resistant to the immoral influence that characterize the social environment in which we live? The following paragraph of the above Psalm (Verses 10 -18) lists the following eight ways, one in each verse:
(1) By making a firm and uncompromising decision to remain loyal to God’s written Word for the rest of our lives.
(2) By expressing our dependence on God through prayer.
(3) By committing God’s Word to memory.
(4) By looking up to God for guidance.
(5) By taking a bold stand for God’s truth.
(6) By rejoicing and delighting in what God says.
(7) By considering the outcome of God’s ways as opposed to world’s ways.
(8) By never becoming too busy to read and study God’s Word.
