Bible reading in one year: Ps. 119:89-176; 1 Cor 8
“If any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love God, the same is known of Him” – 1 Cor 8:2&3 (KJV).
Those who base their right to do some questionable things on their “knowledge” and “mature understanding” show that they really do not understand as they should. Our knowledge in this life is always incomplete and imperfect. This means that our actions must first be based on our love for God and others: “knowledge puffs up but love builds”.
If love is our primary consideration and motivation, we will refuse to engage in or encourage any activity that might influence another believer to defy his or her conscience and compromise his or her relationship with God. Those who live by the rule of love are those who are known by God.
Good morning.
