Bible Reading: Isaiah 34, 35 & 36; Colossians 2
“Who are they among all the gods of these lands, that have delivered their land out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand” – Isaiah 36:20 (KJV)
In his wicked pride, the Field Commander of Sennacherib, the King of Assyria, suggested that the God of Judah was not powerful enough to save Jerusalem from his army. He indicated that it would take a miracle and that there was no time to expect such a thing.
Satan still uses such similar tactics on God’s children today, convincing them that when they are in desperate need, they should not expect a miracle from God. In this case, however, God did a miracle for Judah and defeated the Assyrian commander and his army.
Who can battle with the LORD? Nobody.
