Bible Reading: Jeremiah 27, 28 & 29; Titus 3.
“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously” -1 Peter 2:21-23 (KJV).
When a teacher begins a new topic, he sets examples and by these examples, he explains everything about the topic. The example is a way for the students to know how to tackle future questions in the topic.
That is also what God did with Jesus Christ. By virtue of his coming, Jesus Christ lived for us what is our example. The goal is that by looking just closely to him, we can know how to live our own lives.
God’s love for us is revealed here because, He does not leave us to navigate this world on our own. He has set for us an example. Christ did not live for himself, He lives as an example that we should follow in his steps. We can look at Him and know how we should walk. We can confidently walk the earth if we look closely at the example.
Since Christ has set for us the perfect example, we are not without a guide. We can solve the riddles of life with minimum fuss if we only look closely at Him.
Prayer: Lord, help me to constantly look unto You and grant me grace to walk in Your steps not minding what the world may say.
