Bible Reading: Ezekiel 8, 9, 10; Hebrews 13
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” – Ephesians 5:19-20
Praise is the food of God is the maxim and each child of God is admonished to give praise to God at all times. All through the Bible, we come in contact with people who gave quality praise to God as a result of unimaginable deliverance God gave to them. David the king at a time admonished the people to give praise to the LORD: “Then David said to the whole assembly, “Praise the LORD your God.” So they all praised the LORD, the God of their fathers; they bowed low and fell prostrate before the LORD and the king” 1 – Chronicles 29:20 (NIV).
The praise we are to give to God should be continual and not a one-off thing regardless of the situation. This is the reason the writer of Hebrews aptly encouraged his audience: “Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name” –Hebrews 13:15 (Amp).
This sacrifice of praise to God should be: 1) through Christ Jesus, 2) Constantly and at all times, 3) Through the fruit of our lips with thankfulness, 4) To confess and glorify Christ’s name.
I encourage you never at any moment deprive God this sacrifice at any moment of your life rather you heed the admonition of the Psalmist who said, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his court with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name” Psalm 100:4 (NIV). May you never relent in this act of thanksgiving to God in Jesus Christ name.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, cloth me and my household with the garment of praise always to You all the days of my life in Jesus name.
