Bible Reading: Ezekiel 16, 17; James 3
Psalm 96:12
“Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy” – Psalms 96:12 (KJV)
The mind of God is to release joy every time into the heart of all His faithful followers. However, when one derails, God shall be left with no option than to release His hammer of punishment on defaulters. God wants us to continually depend upon Him regardless of the value that is dominating the society. When we derail and He punishes us, He looks for ways to bring us back to Himself in order that joy might break forth from our camp. What a loving Father! “The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever, he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities” – Psalm 103:8-10 (NIV)
The above submission about the character of God was displayed in the life of the children of Israel during the days of Prophet Ezekiel. Hence, God spoke through him, “Thus says the Lord God: I will take also one of the highest branches of the high cedar and set it out. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and will plant it on a high and prominent mountain…. And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the LORD, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the LORD, have spoken and have done it.” – Ezek. 17:22,24 (NKJV)
No matter the situation your disobedience has taken you, once you call on God and turn away from them, God shall not allow the situation to continue like that. Your Father is loving who loves you.
Prayer: Lord, in mercy forgive my iniquity and change my situation in Jesus name.
