Bible Reading: Ezekiel 20, 21; James 5
James 5:19-20
“Bretheren, if any of any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from death, and shall hide a save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins” – James 5:19-20 (KJV)
The journey into the land of Canaan is full of so many ups and downs. When injury is sustained and proper attention is not given to it, the pain generated as a result of it could be excruciating and disturbing. There are moments when people who are very vibrant in the Lord sustain spiritual injury. That is not the time for us to spread unwholesome information about the fallen heroes/heroines, rather we should swing into action and devise means of getting them back into the fold.
The restoration of a wandering brother and sister should be a topmost priority in our hearts. Never throw up a party over a brother or sister who wanders from the faith. Jude also called our attention to this when he said, “Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear-hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh” – Jude 22-23 (NIV).
No matter the depth of that sin of the fallen brother or sister, God wants you to engage the situation and bring sanity to it lest the Devil gains a soul to himself permanently.
Prayer: God help me never to close my eyes against the erring brethren and cause my efforts to bring erring ones back to yield positive result in Jesus name.
