Bible Reading: Zechariah 1,2,3,4; Revelation 18
“Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.” – Zechariah 1:3 (KJVS)
A farmer that desires to harvest a good yield will prepare a good environment for the farm, plant good seeds on it and nurture it before harvesting the yield. In like manner, whatever a man sows he will reap. You cannot sow rice and expect to reap cocoa. Like begets like. Galatians 6:7 (KJVS) puts it clearly, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” So when you get involved in all forms of sinful acts, you should expect the consequences will come though it may tarry. And nothing is hidden from God; not even your words. Matthew 12:36 (KJVS) says, “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”
It is therefore important to plan for eternity right now so that one can spend it in heaven and not in hell. Zechariah 1:3 (KJVS) states, “Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.” Have you turned to the Lord? Or you have backslided? It is time to come back to him so that God can also turn back to you. And it is simple; just talk to God on your own asking him to have mercy on you and let him know those areas where you have turned away from him. Ask for restoration and make a commitment to remain with him. As he has promised, he will turn to you. On the other hand, it may not be you but people known to you that have backslided, it is time to minister to them on the call of Jesus on them.
Remember, Proverbs 11:30 (KJVS), “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” It is time to work more for God and see what he will do in your life as he never owe any man. He is expecting you to turn many to righteousness and that can start today. You can do this physically by preaching the gospel to people or you can do it by your telephone using any of the social media.
Sometimes, God waits for you to do something for him before he gives that which you desire so much. A man went to preach the gospel and was able to win many souls to the kingdom. Then he slept in his usual place only to wake up and found out that the iron embedded in his leg to enable him to walk when he had an accident was lying by his bedside. He therefore did not have to limp or use crutches again to walk! What are you trusting God for that seems to have eluded you for sometime! Do something for God and see how he repays you. Nothing goes for nothing.
