Bible Reading: Genesis 21,22,23; Matthew 6:7
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” – Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
Prayer is communication between man and God. It is a two way thing; man comes to God, and He responds to man. Prayer is incomplete without a responds from God. He commands us in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Those things which man does not know are the secret things or mysteries of life.
All secrets have their answers in God. Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV), “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” God is more than ready to reveal these secrets that will pave the way for a victorious lifestyle if only we can ask, knock and seek from God. Examples abound in scriptures of people who asked and God responded. From Moses, Jacob, David, Daniel, Nehemiah, Peter, Paul, and so many others.
To get answers, you must consciously come to God with the believe that He answers, and you must persevere in prayer. Ask according to His Will and obediently maintain fellowship with Him. Christ promises that the same way an earthly father will not dissapoint his children, God loves us more than an earthly father loves his children, and will give us what is good if we ask (Matthew 7:11).
Remember, perseverance is key. Sometimes the answer may not come immediately like in the case of Daniel. The enemy tried to stop his answers but could not (Daniel 10:12-13). God always shows up. When things still look like nothing is happening, remember Psalms 85:8 (KJV), I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people,..” Peace from God will come upon you in such times.
Prayer: Father, I receive grace to persevere in prayer in Jesus name.
