Bible Reading: Genesis 24,25,26; Matthew 8:1-17
“When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” – Matthew 8:10 (KJV)
Faith is a demonstration of our confidence and trust in God. It is acting on God’s word believing that what the Word said will surely come to pass. It is a thing of the heart, and God sees our heart and knows what our mind is thinking.
I have always wondered in amazement at the ease with which many people in scriptures got their healing or miracles. The leper in Matthew 8:2-3, approached Jesus and from his heart demanded to be healed. Jesus did immediately.
The Centurion whose servant was sick demonstrated an even greater level of Faith in Jesus because of his understanding of the use of one’s authority in areas where one has power. Jesus was amazed. He said He had not found so great a faith. He gave His Word and the servant was healed (Matthew 8:5-13).
God knows our thoughts from a far off (Psalms 139:2). He sees our hearts whether we believe Him or not. Faith in God comes from the heart. The Centurion demonstrated his confidence in Jesus by His words. His words confirmed what was going on in his heart. The leper too, knew it was His Will to heal lepers. What is that challenge you are going through? Which part or area of His Word have you located that addresses such challenge? As you put His Word to work believing in your heart, you will experience your own miracle too.
God’s word is for our peace. But you must use them to confront whatever is contrary to His word in your life. This is possible if you believe in God with your whole heart.
Action Plan: Make it a goal to henceforth put God’s word in your heart. Create time to study and search the scriptures and meditate on them like never before.
