TOPIC: GODLY FEAR GIVES ACCESS TO DIVINE SECRETS
Bible Reading: Genesis 43,44,45; Matthew 12:23-50
“For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.” – Genesi 45:6 (KJV)
Access to the secrets of God is what makes high flyers in the Kingdom. These secrets of God, according to the bible, is for us and our children. Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV) says, “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” But God only reveals these secret to a certain kind of people.
The fear of God is a vital key, if not the only one, to accessing secret things from God. Psalms 25:14 (KJV) says, “The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.” The fear of the LORD is a reverence for HIm and His word, which propels us to obey Him at all times. Many men of old who feared God enjoyed his presence and revealed secrets. Although God showed some kings who don’t worship Him dreams, it took men who feared God to get the revelation of the dreams. Nebuchadnezzar and Pharoah both dreamed, but no man could interpret their dreams. Nebuchadnezzar even demanded he be told the dream first, before interpretation! Only men like Daniel and Joseph could.
Joseph, by virtue of divine access, revealed to his brothers what will happen in the world in the next five years. He said in Genesis 45:6 (KJV), “For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.” Joseph could do this because he got the revelation from God. God revealed them to him because he fears Him (Genesis 42:18).
God is forever mindful of man (Psalm 8:4) and cares for the preservation of man on the earth. He is looking for men who fear Him to reveal His secrets to. Just as Joseph could predict the happenings in the world for years to come by divine revelation from God, as you grow in your fear of God, He wil reveal secrets that will not only preserve humanity, but secure lives and destinies.
Prayer: Father, I receive grace this morning to grow in Godly fear like your Son Jesus, and servants of old.
