TOPIC: SERVING GOD BRINGS BLESSINGS
Bible Reading: Exodus 22,23; Matthew 20:1-17
“And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.” – Exodus 23:25 (KJV)
A lot of people today serve many things that they do not know. Others claim they serve God, yet the manifestations around them may not point to it. Service, here, implies doing the bidding of another. Service in the kingdom of God means going after the interest of God and His kingdom.
How do you know who you serve because you cannot serve two masters? Romans 6:16 (KJV) says, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” You are servants of whosoever you choose to obey. So whose instructions are you obeying? How did you come about them? Are they from the bible? These are questions you must ask yourself in the course of your service.
For those who serve God, He has not called us to seek Him in vain (Isaiah 45:19). Among the blessings of serving Him, the bible says in Exodus 23:25-27 (KJV), “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.”
No other being can give the above. Only God Almighty. Blessings bring all the positive force of heaven to your side. For those who go after other gods, Psalms 16:4 (KJV), “Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.” Serve God wholeheartedly and His blessings will come on you.
Prayer: Father, Thank you for the grace to serve you wholeheartedly.
