BIBLE READING: EXODUS 36, 37, 38; MATHEW 23:1-20
“And Moses gave commandment and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp saying, let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary, so the people were restrained from bringing. For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make and too much” -Exodus 36: 6-7 (KJV).
We live in a time where people are coarsed or manipulated to give to the men of God or for the work of the kingdom. We need to understand that God’s work done in God’s way receives God’s provisions. God is more interested and more committed to his work than any of us can. “And I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it.” -Mathew 16: 18 (KJV). If it is God’s work and it is done in his way, he will supply the resources and material for the work. When we build our own personal empires or business centres and claim we are building for God, the provision is not guaranteed.
If it is God’s work, we do not have to manipulate the people. God will stir up their hearts to commit to his work. All we need is to stir up the peoples hearts to see the need in the kingdom. The hearts of kings are in God’s hands. Our church members are not our source, God is, the members are only channels.
It is possible today to do ministry and have such testimony of overwhelming response from the people without lying or manipulating the people. They were honest to restrain the people from further giving because the supply was more than enough for the work.
PRAYER: Lord, give us a willing heart to give toward the kingdom work.
