And he said, My presence shall go with thee , and I will give thee rest. – Exodus 33:14 KJV
When a child goes out with his father, he feels save and often shows off that he has someone around him. His mind will be at rest that if any of his colleagues tries to play pranks on him, he would call his father.
In a similar but more intense way, when God follows you , you are assured of his protection. Unlike the earthly father, God is not limited in strength, power, influence, money or any resource at all. This is why God’s presence assures you of rest. Hence God said to Moses in Exodus 33:14 KJV
And he said, My presence shall go with thee , and I will give thee rest. When the presence of God is with you, you are assured that you are separated from others, you become distinguished just like Moses stated in Exodus 33:16.
So with God’s presence, you will have all your needs because he is a great provider, you will not lack anything. In fact you will have pleasures because even evils will run away from you. That’s why it is stated in Psalm 16:11 that in the presence of God, there is fullness of joy and at his right hand, there are pleasures for evermore.
But how do we attract God’s Presence? The word of God says without Holiness, no man shall see The Lord. Heb 12:14. So to have God’s presence we need to live a holy life.
Prayer: Almighty God, please give me the grace to live a life of holiness so as to dwell in your presence at all times in Jesus name.
