BIBLE READING: Leviticus 19, 20; Mathew 27: 45-66
“And behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent” – Mathew 27:51 (KJV)
The death of Jesus on the cross opened for us a new door, or a new and living way to God and the blessings of the kingdom. It marked a new way of relating with God and the direct access of every Christian. It marked the beginning of Levitical order of Priesthood patterned after the order of Melchizedek.
By this new order, every believer can access God directly without a human mediator. No one has advantage over others because the same God is rich unto all that call upon him (Roman s 10:12)
This new order makes it possible for the believer to access God anytime and anywhere through prayer, and worship could be done anywhere and at anytime and by anyone who belongs to God’s family.
What a great privilege to know that every believer now have direct access to God and so can come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy in times of need. God is no more accessed only from the temple but every where because the believer becomes the temple of God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me direct access to you.
