Bible Reading: Ruth 1, 2, 3, 4, Luke 8:1-28.
“And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm” – Luke 8:24 (KJVS)
The wind blows at different times and in different directions. It also blows different things. It can blow blessings to someone and blow calamity to others. Thus in the account of the Red Sea in Exodus 14:21, the east wind blew the Red Sea and separated it such that the Israelites walked on dry ground in between the sea. But the same way the Red Sea was separated it was brought back such that the Egyptians perished in it. So when the wind blows it can be for good or for evil. I pray that the wind will blow for your good today in Jesus name.
As it is stated in Luke 8:23; the wind blew and filled the boat, in which Jesus and his disciples were, with water and their lives were in jeopardy, and the disciples had to rush to Jesus to wake him up to rescue them from the impending danger. What did Jesus do? Luke 8:24 (KJVS) tells us, “And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.” This action of the Lord Jesus clearly shows what to do in situation of jeopardy. But beside the action it shows clearly that having Jesus in your lives, like in the boat, does not insulate you from storms of life and if you do not exercise your control over such storms, you may lose the battle. You will not lose in the battle of life in Jesus name. That is why the Lord Jesus asked the disciples in Luke 8:25 (KJVS), “And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.” You need to exercise faith in every stormy situation you find yourself by speaking into it just like Jesus did!
What are you doing in the current situation of Coronavirus 19? This is a typical storm and it must be rebuked and resisted in all ramifications. While taking necessary precautions of basic hygiene and safety practices, you need to rebuke the virus in the name of Jesus and take authority over it noting that the blood of Jesus protects from all forms of agents of death. Psalm 91 is one of the bible chapters that can be used to take authority over the situation.
Prayer: Father, I cover myself and my entire family with the blood of Jesus and decree that no virus or any other infection shall come near any of us in Jesus name. Amen.
