Bible Reading: I Kings 10, 11; Luke 21:20-38
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not, and it shall be given to him” – James 1:5 (KJV)
Life cannot be run effectively without wisdom, which is the reason God, via His word, encourages us to ask in case we identify this deficiency in us as we navigate life. The daily activities are enormous that it takes wisdom from above to sail through successfully and unhurt. God does not want us to short-change ourselves. This explains why He made available all the resources of heaven. We need this supernatural ability to know the plan of God for the future. No one navigates successfully this terrestrial ball without this essential spiritual ingredient regardless of one’s vocation.
In the days of Solomon, God endowed him mightily with this ingredient when he was given an opportunity. Hear how the Scripture puts it: “Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child: I do not know how to go out or come in and Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people that I may discern between good and evil for who is able to judge this great people of Yours” – 1 Kings 3:7-9. (NKJV) . There was open manifestation of this in Solomon that even people from other nations came around to listen to words of wisdom from this great man.
The Scripture is replete with admonition for wisdom. You are thus admonished to look for wisdom personified, Jesus Christ, in order to have this essential ingredient which shall help you to sail through life. Remember, wisdom only has the capacity to save your life in the long run (Ecclesiates 7:11b)
Prayer- Use Proverbs 16:21.
