Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 30&31; John 18: 1-20
“And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered” 2 Chronicles 31:21 (KJV)
Throughout the scriptures the promises of God abound and it is a certainty for anyone who diligently seek and serve the Lord with all his heart. Service to God is a sure way to prosper. The bible said Hezekiah sought and served his God and prospered. God is not a man that He should lie, His word is eternally established, it cannot fail nor falter. God’s promises is for all generations. In any generation any man who seek and serve the Lord with all his heart is bound to be a recipient of divine promise. God’s promise is His bond. If a man meets the condition stipulated for activating His promise he will definitely inherit such promise. God is not a man to repent of His promises, what He says in His word must surely come to pass. “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures” Job 36:11 (KJV).
God’s word is more constant than the rising and setting of the sun. In Isaiah 45:19 (KJV), God spoke concerning promises in clear and unambiguous terms, “I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.” It is righteousness for God to prosper them who seek and serve Him. It is an establish fact that God’s eye cannot fail to detect those on earth who diligently serve Him. Joseph was committed in following His God . He rose to the enviable position of a Prime Minister in Egypt. Commitment in service gave David the throne, Jehoshaphat Committed himself to God with all his heart and prospered, Jotham became mighty because he prepared his ways before the Lord. From one generation to another the word remain sure, – serving God pays.
In our generation we have a surer way to God through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Apostle Peter summarized the great entrance we have into the promises of God in 2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV), “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.” Dear reader it is expedient that you run to Christ in order to inherit the promises of God.
Prayer: Father engrace to make serving you with all my heart as a lifestyle.
